LCD HDTV Comparison

Sunday, 1. January 2012

All televisions are different, and it has been that way since 1953 when the first black and white sets made their debut in homes across the world. These days televisions are extremely different, but mostly because of the new interface features that have been invented, as well as the introduction of LCD technology. It’s difficult to decide which television will suit your needs best, so let’s talk about three LCD HDTV’s that are available on the market today, and we will list them from best to worst.

Samsung LN46C630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV

This television is particularly nice set at nearly 50 inches, and it actually contains some rather nice technology. First we will start with the number of HDMI ports. There are four of these, three on the back, and one on the side. As you can imagine, there are some peripherals that you probably don’t want to plug in permanently, so why should you have to crawl behind the television to plug them in? There are a number of other features that come with this television as well. Another great interface feature is the VGA port situated in the back of the unit. This port will allow a person to plug their laptop or desktop computer into the television set, using it as a monitor or even a gaming station.

The component inputs on the back are great for gaming, and of course will also work well for those who enjoy watching DVD or Blu-Ray movies. There are a few other features that one should take into account as well. For instance, you can plug a thumb drive or flash drive into the television via the USB port and enjoy a movie that you have downloaded.

You can also stream movies from your computer to your television using just the remote, and you can even share your viewing selection! This TV has a number of different features, including the eco friendly options. One of the most interesting is the eco sensor that is able to detect the amount of ambient light in the room and adjust the television accordingly.

These are just a few features of the television, and you can clearly see why it earns the number one place in this lineup. That being said, it’s time to move on to the runner up, and see what features it has to offer. Though it is a bit smaller, it is still worth taking a look at!

Sharp LC19SB27UT 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

This television is only 19 inches, but that doesn’t mean it’s not great. It is a small, compact LCD HDTV that can fit just about anywhere, and it has the inputs for gaming systems, DVD players, and any other peripherals that you might be in favor of. There are a number of other features, but there have been some problems with this television. There will always be problems, but one user reported that he attempted to use a specific channel on the television, and once he had done so, it was simply static. This problem could not be traced back to the cable box, and it had to be assumed that it was the television. Upon ordering a replacement, it did the exact same thing, which can be a slight disillusionment for any who had high hopes for this television.

In spite of that, most users have found this TV to be acceptable for small spaces, and have given it fairly decent reviews. Whether or not you choose this television is completely up to you, but if you do, make sure you purchase an extended warranty, or be ready to return it altogether in the event something happens.

ViewSonic VT2430 24-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

There are many who say ViewSonic is a great brand, and many of their televisions do indeed reflect that fact. There are some instances however where they simply do not live up to their name. Whether or not this is one of those isntances will be up to you to decide, but many people have reported trouble with the ViewSonic VT2430. The main problem is that they require a software update that does not seem to ship with the units, and while it will not always cause a problem, there are a few that have experienced constant reboots.

Aside from that however, the ViewsSonic VT2430 is known for its amazing visuals, crystal clear picture, and of course 16:9 widescreen. For those who experience success with this television, it is nothing short of amazing, but you should be careful and do the research first. The results speak for themselves.

So there you have it, the entire lineup and the best television. The ideal television should last for about a decade, or perhaps a bit longer, and with that in mind, don’t rush and choose a TV that will ‘work for now’. Make sure you choose carefully, and choose one that meets your needs. There are plenty of options out there from large to small, from functional to nonfunctional. You need to make a determination and figure out what you want, need, and of course choose one that has the same features you already love in your current television. Take a look, make your choice, and ultimately, take home an LCD TV that you can be happy with for the next ten years or even more.
